I see hundreds of tourists a day pounding the pavement at the Aloha Stadium Swap-Meet and about 25% of them have gotten sunburned during their visit in Hawaii.

Not only did this help me recover from a wart being burned off the back of my hand in record time it also has removed a reoccurring "itchy spot" that I have flare ups, well not anymore!!! When I bought our first tube of Burn-B Gone, it was on a recommendation from our pediatrician, and, honestly, I was a little skeptical that it would do everything that she said it would do. She said it would be perfect for us, since our kids (and I) have very sensitive skin, and many other skin healing products can make us break out in a rash. My daughter got a scrape while playing outdoors soon after we bought it, and I applied it two times a day - but didn't have to do it for long, since that scrape healed up in less than 4 days. We could barely tell where it had been! Since then, we've used this stuff on every scrape, burn, nick, scratch, and sunburn that our family gets. It's incredible how fast everything heals, and it doesn't burn at all when you put it on, unlike some other products we've tried. You get 24 total packets for each order. I have not found this low of a price anywhere. I recommend the product it does work on burns and provides pain relief.

It would have to be one hell of a sunburn to be 3rd degree. That involves charring of the skin and destruction of the nerve endings. You would have spent some time in a burn unit. As an EMT, I have never seen a 3rd degree sunburn.
Most sever sunburns are 2nd degree (blistering, extreme pain and peeling).
I'm assuming the burn is healed. If it is, you can apply vitamin E cream to it and that might reduce the scarring. Unfortunately, burn scars of any kind are very hard-if not impossible-to ger rid of completely. The scars might fade over time but it could take months, if not years.
You need to stay out of the sun. Going back out will only worsen the scarring. Scars are very sensitive to sunlight and the sun can actually cause the scarring to spread.
I have some scars on my stomach and chest from a severe 2nd degree sunburn 3 years ago. They have faded but they are still there. I had a burn surface area of about 22% that 2nd degree. Ouch. I no longer sunbathe and when I'm out in the sun for more than 30 minutes or so, I apply a sunscreen of at least 60 SPF. It's not worth the pain to go without sunscreen.
